Wire Sculptures
For this assignment, we had to find two pictures of a person in action. I chose a picture of Erik playing basketball, and one of him playing football. We started by sketching simplified versions of the figures in our pictures by limiting the number of lines to six. The final sculptures are each built of only six pieces of copper wire and were soldered together with solder wire.
Self Portrait
This is the first self portrait I've drawn from a mirror. I've only drawn myself one other time, and that was in seventh grade from a photograph. I spent about 30 hours on this drawing, and several more hours on preliminary sketches. I worked in a dark room with one light source directed at the right side of my face. For the final portrait I used pencil, charcoal, charcoal pencil, white pastel, and conte crayon.

Series Drawings
This project is a series of three drawings that narrate a time when I was afraid. I chose to tell the story of a time I was lost in a corn maze at night. The first drawing shows the anxiety I felt when approaching the maze, it looked menacing. The second gives a feeling of nervousness and finally the third of being lost. I used pen and ink, wash, charcoal, charcoal pencil, and conte crayon.

Typeface
I was assigned to create my own typeface using only squares. I based it off of my handwriting and started sketching the letters on grid paper. When I had finished the alphabet, I created my typeface on Adobe Illustrator. The first image is a poster I created to advertise my typeface, and the second is a quote that shows the type used in sentence.
